Following the huge success of last Novembers big event, we are repeating the same team Tony Tickle, Enrico Savini, Hans van Meer and Terry Foster as artist in residence. This event will also include a professional photo studio available for photographs to be included in the next best of European bonsai book.
Enrico Sanini is a rising star in the Italian and European Bonsai Scene, the quality of his work is breathtaking in one so young. Visit his Italian bonsai school here (it's in Italian though).
From the tender age of 10 years Enrico began to cultivate small plants in pots, his interest in bonsai quickly progressed and he began to work with many European and Japanese masters, one of his early success came in 1997 when he became the new regional talent.
1997 was an important year for Enrico, during this time attending an important Italian bonsai school noted for examining technique and refinement. Developing his skill and working on his own style Enrico was determined that quality and excellence would be benchmark.
Enrico became the youngest Italian bonsai instructor (IBS) In 2002 he founded the Progetto Futuro Bonsai School and within a couple of years became the 4th Italian bonsai school recognized by UBI (Italian bonsai Association).
Enrico began to get noticed on the international scene, winning important national and International prizes like Ben Oki International Design Award in 2003, 3 UBI Prizes (the most important prize in Italy) 2 Mention of Merit and he is invited to headline as a demonstrator in many Events.
Progetto Futuro Bonsai School won the title of "School of the year 2007" and one of his students (Ivo Saporiti will be accompanying Enrico at Burrs) won the "New Italian Talent 2007" and will represent Italy at next EBA Contest in Austria 2008.
Enrico enjoys working with young bonsai enthusiasts many of his students are now well known in bonsai scene like Stefano Frisoni (his first student now IBS instructor), Mauro Stemberger, Ivo Saporiti and Antonio Gesualdi.
Progetto Futuro Bonsai School is a driving force in the Italian bonsai scene and it counts more than 150 students throughout the Country
Enrico likes to work on every kind of material, in particular yamadori trees where he insists particularly on the technique and attention to detail.
In expressing how he works Enrico adopts an approach he calls "freestyle" where he leaves big space to the talent and the personal intuition.
Enrico believes that bonsai is a journey...not a destination and there's always something new to learn, his unassuming nature has won him many friends in the bonsai world and is easy manner is welcomed by those new to bonsai because they do not feel out of place in his company...something he feels has been lacking in recent years.
